Anna Katharina Wildermuth (Violin)  

Born in 1991 in Frankfurt, Anna Katharina Wildermuth is a German violinist and chamber musician.

She completed her studies at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts with Susanne Stoodt and is currently continuing her musical training with Günter Pichler at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid.

She has received musical encouragement and inspiration from such renowned musicians as Igor Ozim, Christian Tetzlaff, Tanja Becker-Bender, Heime Müller, Gerhard Schulz, and the Ensemble Modern. 

Wildermuth has won awards at several competitions, including first prizes at Germany’s “Jugend musiziert” competition for young musicians, the International Johannes Brahms Competition (Austria), European Chamber Music Competition in Karlsruhe, International August Everding Competition in Munich, and International Joseph Joachim Chamber Music Competition in Weimar, and is also a five-time prizewinner at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich.

As a chamber musician she performs internationally at such festivals as the Cape Classic Festival (South Africa), Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Davos Festival (Switzerland), and Festival Quartetto d’Archi in Reggio Emilia (Italy) as well as at many leading cultural centers, including in Frankfurt (Alte Oper), Munich (Gasteig), Hamburg (Laeiszhalle), Madrid (Auditorio Nacional de Música), and Melbourne (South Melbourne Town Hall).

Anna Katharina Wildermuth plays an instrument made in 1843 by the Turin violin maker  Joannes Franciscus Pressenda which has been generously made available to her by the Anna Ruths Foundation.

She is a Jargar Strings Artist and uses violin strings from the Superior series.

She is a member and co-founder of the Aris Quartet.
