Ludwig van Beethoven - The Razumovsky Quartets
Release: February 07th 2026
Filmed in Vienna's Razumovsky Palace — the very rooms where Beethoven’s Op. 59 quartets were first imagined for their patron Count Razumovsky — the Aris Quartet performs all three "Razumovsky" Quartets in a setting rich with historical resonance. Written in 1806, these works broke new ground in scale, emotional range and structural ambition, marking a pivotal moment in Beethoven’s middle period. The award-winning Aris Quartet not only performs these groundbreaking works, but discusses what it is that makes them so pivotal to the history of an entire genre.
Decurio: Sibelius - Piano Quintet & Miniatures
Aris Quartett - Annika Treutler (piano)
Release: Single (12.08.2025) / Album (03.27.26)
Pianist Annika Treutler, together with the Aris Quartet, explores a fascinating and largely overlooked chapter in the work of Jean Sibelius. At the center of the recording is the Piano Quintet in G minor, an early and powerful composition written in 1890, when the Finnish composer was just 24 years old—yet despite its expressive intensity and formal boldness, it is rarely performed.
Selected solo piano works frame the quintet, offering vivid insight into Sibelius’s distinctive style. Together, the performers create a nuanced interpretation that sheds new light on Sibelius’s early chamber music.
Recorded at the legendary Teldex Studio Berlin, the production benefits from the studio’s exceptional acoustics, enhancing both presence and detail. The album is released on the decurio label.

Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn
Release: October 02nd 2023
The multi-prize-winning Aris Quartet joins the Rising Stars series on STAGE+ with a programme of music by the siblings Felix Mendelssohn and Fanny Hensel. First comes Hensel's sparkling Quartet in E flat of 1834 – a work that likely languished unperformed until it was finally published in 1989 and revealed as an important work of musical romanticism. Mendelssohn, meanwhile, composed his dramatic final quartet in 1847 in response to his sister's sudden death – and died himself only a few months later. To complete the programme, the Aris Quartet perform a sparkling string quartet arrangement of Mendelssohn's Song without Words Op. 102 No. 3.

"... brilliantly played ..."
BBC Music Magazine
“The Aris Quartet’s masterful play with dynamics lends the music an almost sculptural quality, the homogeneity is gratifying […] Here, too, the Aris Quartet communicates engagingly, creating electric excitement between the poles of chamber music and symphonic playing. The lyrical tone in the Andante is movingly graceful – a gift.”
Jan-Geert Wolff, Pizzicato magazine
“With Anna Katharina Wildermuth, Noémi Zipperling, Caspar Vinzens, and Lukas Sieber, it is above all the great uniformity of their darkly whispering, almost raspy timbre that mesmerizes us. […]”
